I know I have dummy - or impossible - ideas,
but would it be possible to enable calling a user
level software when VM is very low, for instance
to setup another (new) file to swap or to send a mail
for root - before beginning to kill random tasks...
Surely all this with a very high priority, but some
people are running very long applicative tasks
(> 10 days) with sometime unknown maximum virtual sizes.
