problem mit ppp 2.3.5 and 2.1.99

Hi there,
I compiled Kernel 2.1.99, PPP support in the kernel is activated.
I downloded and compiled PPPd 2.3.5. But when I want to use kppp, pppd doesn't
run correctly. kppp says 'loggingn into network' and says also 'starting pppd'.
kppp works fine with PPP 2.3.0.
