I've just received a messages posted by Ted about a bug in the tty
layer. I don't know if it's related, but I get this message in 2.1.102:

Warning: dev (03:0c) tty->count(0) != #fd's(2) in do_tty_hangup

The race condition which I found could very well cause error messages
like this.
