Interesting also, because somewhere in the simm/dimm's is the kernel, and
anything that is running. I can see the bug reports now:
" I removed the simm, and my machine just hung. Is the kernel
broken......"
On removable memory cards, however it would be a useful feature, but would
require additional handling to insure the memory is unused. Going
single-user defeats the purpose, you may as well shut the system off. I
