SB16 lockup with kernel 2.1.102/103

Hi,

When using the audio device of my soundblaster 16 ASP
with linux kernel version 2.1.102/103, the system locks hard.

e.g. when I use cat someaudiofile.au >/dev/audio, the file is
played and after the system is ready playing the audio-file, the
system locks up.
