Stop thinking only about yourself. There are lots of people that don't
understand the importance of having a correct System.map in the right
location under the right filename. These people produce bogus oops reports
which waste kernel developer's time and dilute crash patterns.

Agreed, but you will be using this. At least procps, klogd, and ksymoops
will be modified to use symbols provided by the kernel.
I expect the 2.2 kernel to be popular at least until winter 2001.
It's going to be used by 10 million people, many of whom have no
clue about why a System.map file is important. These people will
make feeble attempts at bug reporting. One thing they will have is
enough RAM to make System.map totally insignificant. Think in terms
of an average consumer PC with hundreds of MB of RAM.
