Linux 2.0 is still being maintained (a new version of it was released last
Wednesday) and iBCS should work with that. Another possibility is that
you could ask Oracle to port their product to Linux. I asked the people
at Adobe to port their Acrobat viewer, and they did. Another option is
that you could get one of SCO's operating systems. They're available for
download at no charge, under some circumstances, and can be bought on
CDROM for something like US$20. This is described more accurately in an
obvious place on www.sco.com. I assume the "Oracle thing" you want to try
is its DBMS. Have you seen
http://www.postgresql.org/comp-comparison.shtml? It shows three DBMSs
which are supported on Linux (at least for the x86 platform). PostgreSQL
itself is free (BSD-licensed) software. A fifth thing you could consider
is to budget some money for hiring a programmer to fix iBCS for Linux.
