IRQ Sharing.

Hi,

Are there any problems with IRQ sharing in kernels 2.0.3x? I have a HP
J2585B and an onboard aic7xxx controller sharing the same IRQ (15).
The nic is connected to a 100Mbit backbone and gets a fair share of the
traffic. The aic7xxx controller also gets a fair amount of work to do.
Sometimes we experience that the load averages > 1 for some time, even
though the machine is lightly loaded with user processes. So I got
this strange idea, that maybe if there were some conflict between the
nic and the scsicontroller, it might influence on the loadavg?
Does this sound crazy? Would I gain anything by moving either the
nic or the scsicontroller to another IRQ? (I'd hate to do it. The
machine is a production machine and it is expected to be online almost
24 hours pr. day ...)

Best regards,

Brian
