I upgraded from 2.1.99 to 2.1.105, but i don't seem to get the sound
working. I have GUS calssic card. Even when the modules are loaded, the
write to device produces error: "device not configured".

# /sbin/lsmod
Module Size Used by
ad1848 14160 0
gus 45268 0
sound 56064 0 (autoclean) [ad1848 gus]
soundcore 1812 7 (autoclean) [sound]
...
# cat > /dev/dsp
bash: /dev/dsp: Device not configured
# cat /dev/sndstat
Kernel: Linux foo 2.1.105 #1 Wed Jun 10 15:20:20 EEST 1998 i486
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:

Card config:

Audio devices:
1: Ultrasound (DUPLEX)

Synth devices:
0: Gravis UltraSound 3.7 (1024k)

Midi devices:
0: Gravis UltraSound Midi

Timers:
0: System clock

Mixers:
0: ICS2101 Multimedia Mixer

Card did work with 2.1.99 (expect annoying problem when closing the
device) and it was compiled as module then also.

P.S: What is the ad1848 module anyway Documentation/sound/ultrasound
recommends loading it, and it appeared to be compiled+installed though i
don't recall enabling it in the make xconfig. Strange.
