Note, if you are using diald on a 2.1.xx system, make sure CONFIG_PACKET=y is
defined, or diald won't be able to function (this isn't mentioned in the diald
documentation IIRC, since 2.0.xx didn't have a config option for it). It took
some head scratching on my part to discover this. Also in recent kernels,
diald causes the message:

kernel: diald uses obsolete (PF_INET,SOCK_PACKET)

to appear in your syslog.
