This is an announcement of the second round of testing of the Linux support
for the HP 7200e and other parallel port ATAPI CD-R devices.

This support consists of an addition to the PARIDE suite of drivers and
a patch to Joerg Schilling's cdrecord program.

You need Linux 2.1.103 or later and cdrecord 1.6.

Check out http://www.torque.net/parport/cdr.html for more information.

So far, this has been tested with various models of the HP 7xx0e drives
and a (homemade) drive that uses a Mitsumi CR-2801TE drive and a Micro
Solutions backpack adapter. It should work for any 1x or 2x ATAPI
drive supported by cdrecord and any parallel port adapter supported
by PARIDE.
