Proper fix is to MANUALLY insmod bsd_comp and ppp_deflate. This fixes
problems here on 2.1.98.

Also, somebody correct me if I'm wrong in assuming that 'ppp_deflate' is
an attempt at STAC over analog? On Livingston PM3's running 3.7.3b14, I'm
seeing WELL over 50ms less latency. I like. :)
