Hmm, guess I should have updated the sig file before posting. Thanks to
this list and #linux and #unixhelp on Effnet I was able to upgrade the kernel
from .30 to .33 and then up to .34. There's a lot I still need to understand
in the configuration stages of making a new kernel (ie, I still have problems
with any version of the sound module I compile myself), but... it works. =)
