2.0.33 aha174x lossage

a machine that works fine with some other kernel version
(unfortunately, I might not have the working compiled kernel anymore)
is failing with `aha174x: Boarrd deetected, but not in enhanced mode,
so disabled it.' Can anyone tell me what kernel versions *will* work
with this machine?
