I've just updated from 2.0.33 to 2.1.107 and i've noticed 2 strange
things :
- first I have a kernel error message while booting, I've never seen
before :
Jun 30 23:15:41 mag kernel: Loaded 5011 symbols from /boot/System.map.
Jun 30 23:15:41 mag kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.1.107.
Jun 30 23:15:41 mag kernel: Error seeking in /dev/kmem
Jun 30 23:15:41 mag kernel: Error adding kernel module table entry.
- then I can't use my internal modem anymore. After investigating a little
bit, it seems that there is no way to set my serial port (my modem is
using COM4 port 0x2e8, irq 3) :
[root@mag /root]# setserial -a /dev/ttyS3
/dev/ttyS3, Line 3, UART: unknown, Port: 0x02e8, IRQ: 3
Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50, divisor: 0
closing_wait: 3000, closing_wait2: infinte
Flags: spd_normal
[root@mag /root]# setserial /dev/ttyS3 uart 16450
Cannot set serial info: Invalid argument
and this error occured whatever the uart used (even none). This is a bit
more annoying.
I hope that help...
