All,

I tried 2.1.108ac2 with Alan's ac2 patch, Bill Hawes' osf patch and the
following to make Bill's patch compile:

--- linux/arch/alpha/kernel/osf_sys.c.orig Mon Jul 6 22:48:04 1998
+++ linux/arch/alpha/kernel/osf_sys.c Tue Jul 7 18:18:44 1998

#include <linux/mman.h>
#include <linux/shm.h>
#include <linux/poll.h>
+#include <linux/file.h>

#include <asm/fpu.h>
#include <asm/io.h>

Platform is a reliable UDB 166Mhz. box with 64M of memory. It runs great
with 2.1.104 (most recent that I bothered to build for it), but this one
just dies after "..jumping to kernel". No disk activity, no change in
display.

I'll backup to vanilla 2.1.108 and try again later tonight (takes 1:05 to
compile). The working kernel and current were built with egcs-1.0.3,
FWIW.
