A home for developers

Just thought I'd point out that Corel Computer is offering
some open source developers free FTP space and use of a CVS
repository on their NetWinder.org site. A mailing list can
also be provided for a specific project.

The only tough requirements are not too unreasonable: the account
is to be used to develop non-commercial software which must have
open source and be usable on their NetWinder computer (a StrongARM
Linux box).

Note that this means you have to write architechture independent
code, or code specifically for the NetWinder. Applications,
kernel hacking, or whatever.

So if you are developing for Linux and need a home, take a look
at http://www.netwinder.org/

The site is run completely by the core NetWinder Linux developers,
is non-commercial, and of course runs entirely off of Linux boxes
[currently x86, but will likely be NetWinders when we get a chance].
Everything is backed up daily to DLT with BRU-2000.

And lastly, thanks to all the Linux developers for their excellent
hard work!

P.S. A limited number of shell accounts on four NetWinders are
available thanks to OCLUG member Alan DeKok <aland@netwinder.org>
The Debian guys are using them to port the distribution, so
don't bug him for an account if you're not a serious coder.
