Hanging apps...

I'm having an occasional problem with applications (mostly Netscape)
dying for one reason or another (not kernel related), but still running
in the background. I don't think this is kernel related, however, when I
try to kill the application, I can't. 'kill -9 PID" has no effect on the
backgrounded task. The only way to kill the task is to reboot.

I should be able to kill anything with 'kill -9', yes?

I've seen this too many times to be a fluke..

I'm running 1.0.8 on a 64MB P200 system...
