2.1.10[89] do not boot here. At SCSI target detection time,
the 2 hard disks are correctly identified, the CD-ROM drive
is correctly identified with a "SYNC transfers not supported"
message that I did not get before, and the tape drive
is identified but the SCSI host driver gets stuck in an
endless loop right thereafter:

ncr53c810a-0: restart (SCSI reset)
ncr53c810a-0-<5,*>: FAST-10 SCSI 10.0 Mb/s...
SCSI host 0 abort (pid 32) timed out - resetting
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
ncr53c8xx-reset: pid = 34 reset_flags=2...
ncr53c810a-0: restart (SCSI reset)
...

(this is from pencil & paper hardcopy...)

(thomas@melchior) /proc/scsi $ cat ncr53c8xx/0

SCSI host is an Asus PCI SC200. Running kernel is 2.1.105,
fault occurs with 2.1.108 and 109 compiled with egcs-1.0.3-release.
CPU is Intel Pentium 200, 96 Mb core.

Please feel free to request more information/tests.
