2.1.109 + ac1 make failure `no_scroll' undefined ref

I've had this message with base 109 and 109 +ac1, compiling with egcs-1.0.3a.
Any clues ? I done some rummaging around, but can't find it defined anywhere.
Tried both 108+patch to 109 and also a fresh 109 source.
