Hi Richard,

I gave it a try and got mixed results. A complete compile (big
step #1), but the resultant kernel image is not bootable. FWIW, I have
never been able to boot a 2.1 kernel. aboot-0.5 reports (to the effect)
"blocksize smaller than anticipated!" then aborts. sigh..

Here is my system info:

Alphastation 200 4/233 Avanti Mustang
SRM console v6.8
RedHat-5.1
clean 2.1.109 kernel w/your patch
compiled by egcs-2.91.50**

**2.1 kernels compiled from egcs-1.0 had same boot failures from aboot.

Anyone have a recipe for success with RedHat-5.1, 2.1.10late and SRM?

thanks,
-bp
