Actually, the strong desire to have the latest kernels right away is not all
bad - it certainly shows the interest.

However, instead of creating more work for the archive maintainers, why not
use some of the tools we already have, such as email of patches, and
that-never-quite-took-off program called fsp? Lower the ftp max-count to
whatever is needed to maintain reasonable response, and add to the no-login
message a pointer to the web page offering kernel patches by email, and to a
web page stating how to use fsp. Obviously, fsp needs to be available on the
server.

Why email is good: because the load gets spread out to many machines.
