I don't claim to be a wonderful coder, but here's something that will
(hopefully) keep everyone happy:

(1) Make the bootlogo in Linus's official distribution a penguin. No
beer glass, just the penguin by itself.

(2) I'll make available some web space to which people can submit
their own stylised bootlogos. (That'll give the more artistic
list members something to keep them occupied :-) Anyone will be
able to browse this archive, and download an appropriate
linux_logo.h to replace the default one.

I'd be grateful if someone could code up a Perl script or a C program
that could convert a standard file format (for example, GIF, PPM, PNM,
PGM, BMP, XPM, etc) into the appropriate format for the linux_logo.h
file. (See note above about my coding skills). I'll use this for
converting submitted images, and also make it available for download
for people to do their own conversions.

I'll accept suitable graphics and code as from now; anyone interested
please mail ME, and NOT THE LIST.

Comments gratefully accepted; flames will go to /dev/null.

Now, please, can we move this discussion from the kernel list?

Martin
