Re: LILO in a mixed IDE/SCSI system

Hi all.

In a mixed IDE/SCSI configuration with SCSI configured BIOS boot preference
using /dev/sda as the boot disk (LILO in MBR),
/sbin/lilo complains with a warning, that boot is _not_ on the first disk
(one IDE exists as /dev/hda).

No error is reported by lilo in this case, but system is unable
to boot afterwards stoping at after the letters "LI"!

O.k.: one way can be to put LILO in MBR on /dev/hda and change
motherboard boot preference to IDE (but i don't like this ;*) ).

Any configuration/patch hints to avoid MBR on IDE?

I have no problems with /etc/lilo.conf starting out with

boot=/dev/sda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
delay=50
disk=/dev/sda
bios=0x80

(This is with lilo-0.20 patched with lilo-20.patch as found
on ftp.win.tue.nl:/pub/linux/util/lilo-20.patch .)
