The problem with this is that the 2.1.114 patch is required and correct,
and if reverting that helps somebody it must point to some other real
bug...

What would help is that the people who see the problem (with amd, right?
Not autofs, but the old one?) try to get a trace of what amd does ("strace
-f -o outputfile" is a powerful tool - you can use "-p xxxx" to attach to
pid xxxx even after you've started up amd).
