SMP problem in 2.1.115?

First thanks for the excellent work on PCI device detection.
2.1.115 is able to detect the NCR53c875 on Compaq Proliant 7000.
I am very happy to catch up with the developers' steps.

There are some SMP problems in 2.1.115. The machine has 4 cpus.
I run two jobs, 800MB each, on the machine. It hangs (not everytime).
The screen is blank (no warning, and nothing) with no keyboard response.
Any clue? The same jobs work fine on dual cpu configuration on the same
machine.
