A) It's among the more astonishing things, so it fails to follow the law of
least astonishment
B) It engenders a sense of distrust in the stability of the O/S if one day it
suddenly reboots for no aparent reason
C) It may be that the system is controlling some mission-critical operation
D) If a problem occurs in the startup sequence, the machine would reboot
infinitely and you couldn't fix it
E) Why annoy all the legitimate users by allowing an errant user to reboot the
machine simply by running it out of resources?
