Geez, can people elaborate a little when they point out stuff like
this?

As far as I can tell our UDP does:

2.0.x) truncate length to user supplied one
2.1.x) same, plus set MSG_TRUNC in flags as specified by POSIX if
user supplied length was in fact smaller than packet data
