[2.1.116] vga=extended still half-way broken

Hi, 2.1.116 works for me. (modular sound SB16, PCI NE2000, UP PPro 166)

However, the new console stuff still appears to be broken. If I choose
vga=extended, I get

Console: colour VGA+ 80x50
...
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 80x25
fb0: VGA frame buffer device, using 32K of video memory

The text is small enough that I could, theoretically get 50 lines on the
screen, but after the kernel messages start getting down to around line
25, new next is written ABOVE previous text! This continues until new
text is written about the top o the screen. I think it is because the
scrolling code things the screen is 80x25.
