VFS: inode busy on removed device 08:01

Does anybody know what could cause this on 2.0.35 vanilla:

VFS: inode busy on removed device 08:01
VFS: inode busy on removed device 08:11

It looks like VFS thinks there's a dirty inode on those devices
but that's impossible.

I set up a raid0 MD device with /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 which aren't
being used for anything else, there isn't even a file system on those
partitions. Then those messages appeared. Creating an ext2 filesystem
on /dev/md0 hangs the box.

Same results on 2.0.36-pre6

And I have this working on several other boxes with mostly the same
configuration :(
