lockd still has issues (2.1.119pre1)

In my first few tests (the program "send" from mh) things worked fine, but now
I'm getting the usual:

nsm_mon_unmon: rpc failed, status=-13
lockd: failed to monitor 199.172.48.251

messages on the console again.

(machines in question are -- client: linux box w/ 2.1.119pre1, server: network
appliance nfs server.)
