Earlier I posted about the strange hangs I'd been having with 118 and 119.

Well, I decided to try recompiling 119 with gcc 2.7.2.3 instead of the
"egcs-2.90.27 980315 (egcs-1.0.2 release)" I'd been using.

Hmmm. It's up and running with X, no panic on boot, and although it's
only been up for about 10 minutes, that's over ten times as long as I
got the egcs-compiled version to stay up under X.

Hmmmm.
