Yes, it is. For marketing reasons, all HD manufacturers use power of
10 units instead of power of 2 like all others in this field.
So your 9.09 gig drive is a 9090000000 bytes drive, which if you
divide it by 2^30 (1 gigabyte in power of 2) turns out to be
an 8.46 "real gigabytes" drive.
Blame the marketroids...
