Yep 2.1.119 still fails to detect this cyrix chip properly.

CPU 6x86MX PR 233+

Linux version 2.1.119 (root@tweetie) (gcc version 2.7.2.3) #17 Thu Aug 27
22:09:
07 EDT 1998
(notice I compiled with 2.7.2 just in case egcs was yutzing things up)

Console: colour VGA+ 80x25
Calibrating delay loop... 156.88 BogoMIPS
Memory: 95228k/98304k available (1020k kernel code, 392k reserved, 1608k data,
5
6k init)
Checking if this processor honours the WP bit even in supervisor mode... Ok.
POSIX conformance testing by UNIFIX
CPU: Cyrix 6x86MX 2.5x Core/Bus Clock stepping 2.6
Checking 386/387 coupling... OK, FPU using exception 16 error reporting.
Checking 'hlt' instruction... OK.

Ok the initial check gets it right (somewhat it gets the stepping wrong)

then /proc/cpuinfo has the same incorrect info

[gregm@tweetie gregm]$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
