SMP=0 will compile the kernel SMP. You have to _#comment_ it out in the
Makefile.

Can you reproduce the bad behavior with the timer at 100msec (not 10msec)
and with costants like these?

#define MAX_K 12

I can' t on 2.1.120-3 _UP_ over a P5233MMX. _If_ you will reproduce the
problem with these values (with the slow timer at least) I' ll recompile
the kernel SMP...
