Seriously... Be careful now... They may be virtual hosting off
of some legit server. I just had an entire web site thrown off the net
last week after a spam attack (disguised to look like an errant personal
message). Once I tracked down the domain POC's and send E-Mail to
abuse at the various domain names, I had a bounce message back from one
of the servers (seems that the web site didn't HAVE and abuse@ address).
The bounce was from SLMail (a Windows SMTP package). A quick check of the
system reveal that it was Windows NT with ports 135 and 139 reachable and
ripe for the pickings. I dropped a note to the sysadmin there about
just HOW vulnerable they were and told them that if they really were in
the path of the shit storm that was heading toward that web site, they
might want to pack a little armer around their little glass windowblows
house. Within an hour I was Cc'ed in on the message informing the web
site owners that they had been removed from the server for violating
acceptable use policy... :-) You can get action if you go about it
correctly. Fear works much better than vandalism. :-)
