Here's an interesting data point though. My 2nd machine has the same chipset
and same soundcard (I'm assuming one of the first AWE32's with 3 different
CD-ROM interfaces, non?) and Peer Concurrency has always been golden in 2.0 and
2.1, although my board is not SMP.

What are the other cards in the machine by chance?
