MD driver oopes in linear mode [ kernel 2.1.120 ]

It happened while I was copy a huge(200mb+) tree from um drive to the
strip partition I had just created.
2.0.35 seems buggy as well, it did not oopsed, but gave me many erros
while untaring the same tree from my backup (It complained about not
beeing able to create files/directiores in a quite ramdom fashion)
(There were some bad blocks on the partitions, actualy, the hard this is
quite trashed (about 1gb bad blocks but no more than 2mb were in those
partitions))
