Yep, I got similar errors for my 3 year old Archive DAT DDS-1 tape drive (which
only can do ASYNC requests). I discovered that by flipping the jumper to
SCSI-1 and supplying proper termination, it allowed it to work again. One
symptom was getting parity errors during the initial device recognitition.
