Hi,

I ve copied /etc/ppp/ppp-on in /usr/sbin and rename it
/usr/sbin/ppp-on-myisp.com. In both identical files, I have setted my Isp
dialing number, user + passwd for my account, and the DIALER_SCRIPT is
/etc/ppp/ppp-on-dialer.
When executin /usr/sbin/ppp-on-myisp.com, I had error:
ERROR:/usr/sbin/pppd:THIS SYSTEM LACKS KERNEL SUPPORT FOR PPP.
But..wait a minute! I realised I had not setted my /dev/ttySx to the
right modem port on my system . I ve corrected it to /dev/ttyS3, my modem
port, and now, Then I run /usr/sbin/ppp-on-myisp.com..and by magic, and
with no error message, I hear my modem dialing..handshaking
..and for about one minute there s a connection with my Isp before my modem
suddenly hangs down! During that one minute of connection(?), whether I
ping my Isp(I got error network unreachable) or usin lynx to reach the web
(host not available), I have no sign of a successful PPP linking successful
connection..
A quick look at my /var/log/ppp-log says:
connect:ppp0<->/dev/ttyS3
sent [LCP confReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x20a00S>
LCP: timeout sending Requests
connection terminated
receive serial link is not 8-bit clean
problem: all had bit 7 set to 0
Exit.

Any clarifications and help would be appreciated..
BTW, how to set the 8-bit clean connection instead of 7???

Thanks for time and consideration
