lockups on SMP with recent kernels including 2.1.123

I have been having hard lockups on SMP kernels with 2.1.120 thru 2.1.123.
Locks immediately after loop is loaded, does not seem to scan for floppy drive
at all or realize that I have no ide devices. Magic sysreq does not seem to
work.

Let me know if you have anything to try. I just love running SMP linux rather
than SMP NT, the performance increase in the new kernels is increadable.
