2.1.124 works fine for me, all the IO seems ok and the performance is at
least similar to recent kernels (it does not feel subjectively different
than any of 2.1.12[0-3] kernels). I was able to build 2.1.124 with itself
(using make -j, it's fun to see the load average go over 35 because it
breaks xload). For .config http://www.realtime.net/~welbon/linux.config
