Linux 2.1.124-ac1, erratic ps2 mouse

Any reason why the 2.1.124-ac1 patch might have introduced erratic
behavior with the ps2 mouse driver?

Specifically, the mouse occasionally jumps to the upper right
corner during movement. Sometimes an instant jump, sometimes it
moves there slowly. This doesn't seem to happen at the console.

I ran for about three hours at 2.1.124 prior to installing the ac1
patch without seeing this behavior. After installing Alan's first
patch, I started noticing the mouse problem.

Everything else seems to be working fine. In fact, this is the
first 2.1.x kernel where my 4mm tape drive has worked properly:
2 gigabytes written and restored fine.

This is on a dual PPro SMP machine, Micronics W6-Li motherboard,
Xig Accelerated X 4.1, Red Hat 5.1 w/upgrades, Logitech ps2 mouse.

More detailed system/hardware information available if you want it.
