Another argument for the OOM signal (SIGOOM!) is that a userland daemon
could catch this and perform whatever killer logic was required by that
system admin. For example, I would kill all bash sessions :-),
preserving the essential daemons for sure, and I'd kill 'em with HUP.
But this would be up to me, and completely configurable AND reliable,
without cluttering up the kernel.
