I could not get 460K to work at all, nor 230K. Only 115K seems to work
correctly. Is there some magic I should be aware of?.

There are a number of limiting factors; the version of glibc you are
using, as well as application programs that actually support 115kbps.
So yes, there are some additional pieces of magic beyond the bare kernel
support, which is present. (Also, you did remember to use setserial
baudbase when you changed the multipler jumpers, right?)
