Ethertap device

Hello,

I have a few questions concerning the ethertap device available in 2.1.x
kernels. I've seen those questions asked some time ago in the mailing list
archives, however I couldn't find the answer to them, so I have to ask
them again:

1. How can I setup more than one tap device?
2. Why are ARP, ICMP and UDP packets handled perfectly but not any TCP
packet?
3. Will the ethertap device continue being supported in the future?

My setup: linux 2.1.125, support for netlink, netlink device and ethertap
compiled, mknodded /dev/tap0.../dev/tap7. Nothing else (except strange
refcount for soundcore module) is wrong with my kernel.

Please send me back the reply PERSONALLY or at least send me a carbon
copy. Thanks for your help in advance!

Met vriendelijk groet,
Guus Sliepen.
