I know it has been discussed before, but I still don't get it.
Why the hell does the kernel think it can outguess me by automatically
adding a route to the network that belongs to an ip address that
I configure on an interface.
I have two machines, both of them on my normal ethernet.
Sometimes I have more network cards in them, so then I do
on first machine on the second machine
ifconfig eth1 host1 up ifconfig eth1 host2 up
route add host2 eth1 route add host1 eth1
which I expect to make host routes to the other machine. (host1 and
host2 are NOT the normal IP addresses of these machines).
Turns out that I accidently messed up the route to the whole B-class
network that the "host1" and "host2" adresses came from.
