Just a question, does it fix that pesky only-root-can-suspend-the-machine-
no-matter-what-the-permissions-on-/dev/apm_bios-bug ?

You can find the offending code near line 985 on an unpatched 2.1.125
version of arch/i386/kernel/apm.c.
