Erratic PS/2 Mouse in 2.1.126

About a month ago I had trouble with Alan Cox's patches to 2.1.124.
Specifically, my PS/2 mouse movement was erratic. If the mouse is in
motion, there is an N% chance it will jump upward and to the right.
Sometimes the software (X) reacts as if one of the buttons has
been pressed.

I went back to a non-patched 2.1.124 kernel and was unable to further
test because of some work the machine needed to be doing.

Today I built a non-patched 2.1.126 kernel and I'm having the same
problem.

I can't use my system like this, but if Alan or anyone else wants
system details, I'll send them and I will test code changes to try
and figure out what is wrong.

Some brief details:

Dual PPro system 256MB RAM, Micronics W6-Li motherboard
Matrox Millenium II graphics board
DPT 2044W SCSI controller with 3 drives
standard PC hardware
IDE CDROM and Zip drive
Xig 4.1.1 X server
Linux distribution: updated Red Hat 5.1

This behavior is not dependent on system load, sound, graphics mode,
or programs in use.

If anyone wants my kernel configuration or other details, let me know.

I recently completed an uneventful 27 day uptime with 2.1.124.
The only problem was degraded sound quality in the last few days.
Have to try and duplicate that before reporting in detail.
