Don't count on it. IMHO, there are quite a few parallels between the
technical knowhow needed around computers and automobiles. Look how long
they've been around and you still get all sorts of morons trying to
operate one.
I've put dents in $80k Mercedes-Benz statusmobiles because the idiots
don't notice the Harley in the lane they just decided to occupy. They
notice when you start kicking their door.
It's even worse at a repair shop. How many times have you heard the
jokes about the oil light? Most of them are 100% true.
Personal computers have only been around for 25 - 30 years. Automobiles
are over the century mark. It's not going to get much better for quite
some time (if ever) because (in both cases) most people just don't care.
They want it to work and don't want to have to think about it.
If you build something that any idiot can use, any idiot will.
